History of VIM Technologies

 

2023: VIM continues growth through Corporate Standardizations of CEMLink 6.  Adoption of EPAS (Environmental Project Assessment Service) Product gains momentum in key industries.

VIM continues to expand its close relationship with International Paper adding two mills in 2023.

VIM partners with Clean Air Engineering to build a “Turn-Key” solution for the Sterilization Industry to meet upcoming NESHAP regulations.

VIM prepares for ECMPS 2.0 rollout from EPA CAMD and releases LME EDR Tool.

VIM holds a User Group and Training Meeting in Phoenix, Arizona.


2022: VIM grows its Digital Transformation for Compliance footprint and expands with Digital Transformation Assessment services.

Major projects included Georgia Pacific, Westrock, CountryMark, BP, ProEnergy, Nucor, and Cleveland-Cliffs.

VIM continues its online training and complimentary webinars, and hosts CEMLink6 and Regulatory Training event in Dallas, TX.

VIM reaches major milestone of 30 years in business.


2021: VIM continues to grow market share in its core competencies. VIM performs fleetwide DAS replacements for National Grid and Georgia Pacific and develops partnerships with ProEnergy and Lehigh Cement.

VIM’s COMPAS product line continues to expand with many new corporate partnerships and enhanced auditing options.

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, VIM develops online training platform and complimentary webinars.


2020: VIM expands its market presence in Canada with new reporting requirements for Alberta and develops strategic partnerships through its Continuous Parameter Monitoring System (CPMS) offerings for facilities and fleet-wide management.

VIM’s COMPAS product line continues to expand with expert compliance consulting options including EPAS (Environmental Project Assessment Service) which helps end-users engineer their environmental project needs in detail prior to implementation.

VIM opens field office in Tempe, AZ.


2019: VIM adds more corporate partners with Graymont, LyondellBasell, Anchor Glass, and Nextera Energy.

VIM’s product line expands with Baghouse Leak Detection (BLDS) and Continuous Parameter Monitoring (CPMS) capabilities.

VIM opens technical center in Knoxville, TN.


2018: VIM expands its market reach across all existing business segments, performing an unprecedented number of system installations in petrochemical and refining, pulp and paper, cement, and electric generation. VIM also procures orders to implement its 40CFR Part 63 EEE Hazardous Waste Interlock system at additional cement facilities.

VIM partners with Roseburg, installing systems across all their regulated sources in the United States meeting various regulatory requirements such as Boiler MACT, Plywood MACT, and CAM rules.


2017: VIM performs fleetwide DAS replacements for Florida Power and Light (FPL), adding over 65 sources reporting acid rain Electronic Data Reports (EDRs).

 


2016: VIM partners with CalPortland and increases its market share in cement to 60%.  VIM adds 40CFR Part 63 EEE Hazardous Waste Interlock to CEMLink 6 for its cement customers. VIM continues to add sources from the cement market by partnering with Lafarge and implementing CEMLink 6 at all their PC MACT affected sites.

 

 


Nipsco/Hawaiian Electric2015: VIM performs fleetwide DAS replacements at NIPSCO and Hawaii Electric.  VIM continues its work in the cement market developing a corporate data aggregation system for GCC.

 

 


Georgia-Pacific/Nucor2014: VIM continues to deploy its CEMLink 6 product into Cement, Refining, and Electric Utility markets. VIM develops more corporate partners including Georgia Pacific, Nucor Steel, and Martin Marietta.

 


VIM: 2013

2013: VIM Technologies, Inc. continues applying the CEMLink 6 product to the PC MACT market, providing compliance solutions to Buzzi Unicem, Essroc, and Holcim

2012: VIM Technologies, Inc. partners with Ash Grove Cement to install CEMLink 6 at all of their PC MACT affected sites.

 


VIM: 2011

2011: VIM Technologies, Inc. moves its headquarters to a new, state-of-the-art facility outside of Baltimore, MD.

Building on the success of CEMLink 6 in their Florida plants, Progress Energy (now Duke Energy) selects VIM to install CEMLink 6 in all North Carolina facilities.


VIM: 2010

2010: VIM Technologies, Inc. signs an agreement with Progress Energy (now Duke Energy) to supply the CEMLink 6 product for all Progress Energy plants in Florida.

VIM launches a new company logo.

 


BP logo

2009: VIM Technologies, Inc. begins its relationship with BP Oil in Whiting, IN. VIM continues its work at this facility and others continuing to expand its presence in the Petrochem and Refining industries.

2008: VIM Technologies, Inc. expands and reorganizes its organization and launches the CEMLink 6 development process.

 

 


Got XML? logo

2006: VIM Technologies, Inc. initiates its “Got XML?” campaign to attract potential XML reporting conversions over to VIM’s CEMLink 5 program.

 

 


VIM: 2005

2005: VIM Technologies, Inc. develops its configurable PLC system.

 


VIM: 2004

2004: VIM Technologies, Inc. develops its Compliance Optimization & Monitor Performance Accuracy Service (COMPAS) program to help aide all those required to report Part 75 and State level emissions.

This was also VIM’s initial participation as a stakeholder for the development of the Clean Air Markets Division’s ECMPS Program.

VIM begins supplying CEMLink 5 systems internationally with systems installed in Malaysia, Argentina, Peru, Mexica, Jordan, Spain, Canada, Israel, Egypt, and South Africa.

 


VIM: 2003

2003: VIM Technologies, Inc. installs systems and upgrades to report over 100 sources complying with the NOx SIP Call.

The Enron scandal rocks the industrial utility market.

 


VIM: 2001

2001: VIM Technologies, Inc. develops CEMLink 5 which is written with Visual Studio including Visual FoxPro.

VIM participates as a stakeholder with Pennsylvania Department of the Environment (PADEP) for the development and implementation of its Revision 8 Reporting Program.


Clean Air Market Programs/Duke Energy logos

2000: VIM Technologies, Inc. implements several systems to comply with Phase II of the Acid Rain Program, also known as the NOx Budget Program.

VIM Technologies, Inc. installs initial systems with Duke Energy. VIM will go on to supply many systems for Duke over the years and become their compliance partner.

 


Sunoco logo

1999: VIM Technologies, Inc. installs initial systems with Sunoco, the start of a corporate initiative to install VIM’s CEMLink 4 software at all of its facilities in the United States.

 


Rockwell Automation/Allen Bradley logos

1998: VIM Technologies, Inc. develops partnership with Allen Bradley and agrees to use their PLCs as the base of the CEMLink platform moving forward.

 


VIM: 1997

1997: VIM Technologies, Inc. develops CEMLink 4 utilizing Windows NT platform and FoxPro 2.6 database.
VIM begins OEM relationship with STI (Thermo Fisher Scientific) and signs contract to help them transition all STI DAS systems to VIM’s CEMLink 4 DAS. At the time, STI had the majority market share in the Pulp and Paper industry. Between 1997 and 2002 VIM and STI installed over 100 DAS systems with VIM becoming the largest DAS supplier to the Pulp and Paper industry.

 


VIM: 1995

1995: VIM implements Acid Rain into the CEMLink 3 product and installs its first Part 75 DAS. VIM also develops its initial reporting engine for the Pennsylvania Department of the Environment (PADEP).

 

 


VIM: 1994

1994: VIM Technologies, Inc. develops CEMLink 3 utilizing Windows 3.1 platform and FoxPro 2.5 database. From 1994-1999 VIM installs over two hundred systems using CEMLink 3.

 


VIM: 1992

1992: VIM Technologies, Inc. was founded in February 1992. The company has achieved many milestones in its 30+ year history, but it all started here with a couple of process control engineers working on a variety of control applications and suddenly finding themselves developing data acquisition and reporting software. VIM has come a long way since then, but we have never forgotten the core fundamentals that led to our success.
