Beginner/Intermediate Lessons in Track I of CEMLink6 Training
CEMLink6 is incredibly useful for any organization that’s looking to collect and report on their emissions data. Track I of the 2019 VIM User Group is geared towards helping newer users understand everything from the user interface to reporting and regulations. Here are the classes that are available in Track I:
Orientation to a CEMLink6 DAS
If you’re a plant technician or environmental support staff responsible for CEMS/DAS systems, this class is for you! We’ll talk about the reasons you’ll need a standalone data acquisition system, then break down each component of the DAS build process. Each user interface we discuss will be from an introductory perspective.
Intermediate/Advanced Lessons in Track II of CEMLink6 Training
We’re offering a wide variety of training opportunities at the 2019 VIM User Group in Sheraton Music City Hotel in Nashville, TN. There are eight (8) brand new classes along with refreshed/updated content in the remainder. Come witness firsthand what new tools are available to you in CEMLink6. Sessions available in Track II are:
Calibration Utilities
If you’re a technician or environmental engineer responsible for managing CEMS ongoing quality assurance requirements, you may want to attend our Calibration Utilities course. This course covers every aspect of the Cylinder Management, Calibration Control, and Calibration Data Viewer user interfaces.
Advanced Lessons in Track III of CEMLink6 Training
The 2019 VIM User Group is a great opportunity to get training on the CEMLink 6 software. If you already have a lot of experience with CEMLink 6, you may find it difficult to decide what sessions – if any – would be an effective use of your time. The sessions in Track III are carefully crafted for advanced users like you, with information on tips, tricks, and features that will make you more effective in your day-to-day job. Here are some of the sessions that are available in Track III:

This session is perfect for users who want to become well-rounded, or don’t know which of our advanced sessions to attend.
Factors to Consider When Replacing Your DAS
Your Data Acquisition System (DAS) helps to monitor emissions and keep your company compliant. When you determined it is time to replace your DAS there are several factors you need to take into consideration while moving forward with the upgrade. Discover some of the hidden challenges associated with the endeavor:
Infrastructure
Often overlooked, infrastructure can pose as a major hindrance to a successful DAS upgrade. Ethernet is the most common connection. You’ll want to make sure you have connectivity from all your monitoring locations that loops to one, central location. Incorporate the process group and IT team into the decision-making process to make sure every angle is covered. Evaluate current needs with those of the future in mind.

5 Common DAS/CEMS Management Challenges and Solutions
When it comes to managing DAS and CEMS systems, there are some common challenges that arise. Compliance Managers must have access to the most current and thorough emissions data to ensure regulations are being met. Here are five common DAS and CEMS operations concerns and accompanying solutions:
1. Multiple Regulations
Combustion units are typically subject to multiple air regulatory programs. More often than not, different rules require different validations, averaging, calculations and/or reporting. Steps you can take to address this problem include fully understanding your company’s compliance obligations (NSPS, NESHAPS, Title V), determining if “harmonization” is permitted among the various programs, and checking DAS documentation and the QA/QC Plan to make sure you’re in compliance with all necessary validation and ongoing QA tests.
